Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

Tell Your MP does not collect, store, or share any personal data. We don't use cookies, we don't track you, and we don't run ads.

What happens when you use the tool

When you enter your postcode, it is sent to two external services to look up your MP:

  • postcodes.io — an open-source UK postcode lookup service. Your postcode is sent to their API to determine your parliamentary constituency. They have their own privacy policy.
  • UK Parliament Members API — the official Parliamentary data service. Your constituency name is sent to find your current MP. No personal data is shared.

Your postcode is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers. Once the lookup is complete, it is discarded.

Emails

When you click "Send Email", your device's email client opens with a pre-filled draft. The email is sent directly from your email account to your MP. Tell Your MP does not send, read, or store any emails. We have no access to your email address or the contents of your message.

Cookies and tracking

Tell Your MP does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any form of user tracking. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar services.

Hosting

This website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of their infrastructure. These logs are managed by Vercel under their own privacy policy and are not accessible to us.

Third-party services

  • Vercel — hosting provider
  • postcodes.io — postcode lookup
  • UK Parliament API — MP data

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns.
