How to Email Your MP

It takes less than 2 minutes. We made it as easy as scrolling your feed.

1

Go to Tell Your MP

Visit tellyourmp.co.uk in your browser. No sign-up or account needed.

2

Enter your postcode

Type your UK postcode into the search box and press 'Find Your MP'. We'll use it to look up which constituency you're in and who represents you in Parliament.

3

Review your MP's details

You'll see your MP's name, political party, and constituency. This data comes directly from the official UK Parliament API, so it's always current.

4

Click Send Email

Hit the 'Send Email' button. Your default email app — whether that's Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or anything else — will open with a pre-filled draft addressed to your MP.

5

Personalise and send

The draft includes a template to get you started. Replace the placeholder text with your own words — describe the issue, why it matters to you, and what you'd like your MP to do. Then hit send.

Tips for a good email

  • 1.Be specific. Focus on one issue per email. MPs respond better to clear, focused messages.
  • 2.Be personal. Explain why this issue matters to you specifically. Your lived experience carries weight.
  • 3.Ask a question. Ending with a clear question increases the chance of a meaningful reply.
  • 4.Include your address. MPs prioritise emails from their own constituents. Including your address confirms you live in their constituency.
